Anyone used plastic skirting boards?

Glue is fine if you can hold the item in place until it is fully hardened. I had new windows put in 2 years ago but opted to fit the internal window sills myself and used glue to do this as the wood wasn't under stress and gravity was holding it in place. Worked very well.

When it comes to skirting boards glue isn't so easy as it's vertical it will want to peel itself away from the wall and also the wall won't be perfectly straight and so the plastic will be under pressure and peel off one end or in the middle. If you were only doing a piece 1 metre long then you may opt for glue for ease as you could sit there for half an hour making sure it will hold in place but when you have a whole room to do it will start to **** you off.

I would just use wood tbh. Use a wide paint scraper to hold down the carpet while you paint or use masking tape if on a solid floor. It's not that hard but time consuming. I just think that you will wish you chose this option whilst mucking about with glue and getting 10 of your best friends to help hold the skirting board to the walls.

There are some fantastic glue products out there but they aren't the answer to everything.
