540 BBC, 671 blower, 2 x 750 dp's, Currently running this scoop / air filter combo. I like the look of it but I can't help but think those little (2"tall x 6" dia) filters are choking it down. Don't really want to run it without filters as the track I run at mostly can be dusty at times. My first thought is to run a big oval K&N open ( air bells, alum. plate top & bottom, open all around) but I wonder about loosing the ram effect of a scoop and if the airflow across the air bleeds may be affected in a negative way.
Another thought is to build an alum. air box about 12" x 20" x 3" deep, put a big panel filter in it and this same scoop on top of it (minus the little filters).(air box between the carbs and the scoop).
Anyone else done anything like this ?
